New Wave Grunge from Boston, MA. J / Q is Johnny Northrup (bass, vocals), Q (drums) and Alex Hartman (synth / keys). Johnny and Q played together in a band called Clouds (Hydra Head). Clouds broke up. Johnny and Q kept playing. Johnny worked with Alex at producer/engineer Paul Kolderie's (Pixies, Radiohead) Camp Street Studios. Alex joined up with Johnny and Q to engineer/mix the recordings, and soon after became a full-time member. Camp Street Studios closed. Johnny and Q and Alex kept playing. J / Q takes great pride in being a self-contained unit. www.jslashq.com
