about

Alternative / Post Rock from Allston/Worcester, MA.

parhawks is a project that started during the Fall of 2011 when drummer Brendan Sibley and guitarist Vladimir Kolodyazhnyi began writing music as a two piece following the break up of their former band Nines and Sixes. With a few songs written and a solid direction, Sparhawks was fortunate to gain it's third and fourth members; Brian Davitt (of The Casual Lean) on bass guitar and Tim Marten on second guitar.

The band has achieved a very unique and head turning style with influences from all over. Their songs shed light on subtle tone-driven ambiance, as well as upbeat & clever indie rock. Sparhawks' overall style is seemingly focused on late 90's acts such as as American Football, No Knife, and Mock Orange, with angular guitars and math rock drumming to the likes of Minus the Bear and Pele.

In Late August 2012 Sparhawks' released their first 3 song Demo. They're currently working on finishing new material for their upcoming Full length album which will be recorded at the end of December 2012, and released in early February 2013. The band plans to record their new album during the dead of winter in a Cabin located in the desolate area of Bar Harbor/Acadia, Maine.
